Sunday, December 8, 1946 - Monday, November 28, 2022

Mrs. Peggy Faye Steward of Slocomb passed away Monday, November 28, 2022 at her home. She was 75.

Graveside services will be held at 2:00p.m. on Thursday, December 1, 2022 in the Hartford City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

Mrs. Steward was born December 8, 1946 in Early County, GA to the late T.S. and Vardell Lovering. She was a devoted wife, mother and grandmother. Peggy was known by many names: mama, mother, Peg, Miss Peggy, Aunt Peggy, but above all her favorite was Mawmaw.  She somehow managed to juggle all of these titles with love and grace. Peggy was more concerned with the needs and wishes of others than herself, the true definition of selfless. She loved her family unconditionally, loved to drink her coke, sit on her back porch and loved to go camping. Peggy was loved by many and will be dearly missed!!

In addition to her parents, her sister, Mae Chapman; five brothers: Clarence Lovering, Ralph Lovering, Randall Lovering, Russell Lovering, and Raymond Lovering, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Benson Steward; daughters: Renae Owen (Bobby) and Telisha Hughes; grandchildren: Colby Hughes, Kaylee Barber (Clifford) and Marlee Boswell (Hunter); great grandchildren: Brynlee Hughes, Easton Hughes, Brylee Barber, Raylee Barber and Annleigh Boswell; brother, Maine Lovering (Virginia); loving sister-in-law whom she loved like a sister, Cynthia Vickery (Robert); many nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
