Obituary

“

The love he gave, the memories he leaves behind, and the legacy he created through his family and friendships will live on for generations.

Justin Collin “J.C.” Sellers, of Malvern, passed away on Friday, October 30, 2026, at UAB Hospital. He was 32 years old.

A graveside service celebrating J.C.’s life will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, at Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church Cemetery, with Rev. Brad Price officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

Born on August 3, 1994, in Houston County, J.C. was a country boy through and through. He had a genuine love for the land and found great joy in farming, embracing the simple pleasures and values of country living. Above all else, J.C. cherished his family. His love for his wife, Lydia, was immeasurable, and his two beautiful daughters, Sara Emily and Sadie Jo, were the greatest joys of his life. He was a devoted son, a loving brother, and a loyal friend. His life was enriched by the many friendships he formed, and he was blessed to be surrounded by people who loved him dearly. Though his time here was far too short, the love he shared, the memories he created, and the lives he touched will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew him. He will be profoundly missed.

He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, Robert Merritt and Billy Max Sellers.

Left to cherish his precious memory are his loving wife, Lydia Maninger Sellers; his beloved daughters, Sara Emily Sellers and Sadie Jo Sellers; his mother, Mona Gautney (Michael); his father, Billy Joe Sellers; his brother, Dusty Sellers (Brittany); his grandparents, Jerry and Katherine Strickland and Dorothy Merritt; three special nephews, Lane, Haiston, and Jacob Sellers; a dear friend whom he loved as a brother, Lance Tucker; along with numerous extended family members and treasured friends.

Though hearts are heavy with sorrow, comfort can be found in the promise of eternal life and the assurance that this life is not the end. While J.C.’s earthly journey was far too short, the love he gave, the memories he leaves behind, and the legacy he created through his family and friendships will live on for generations. May those who loved him find peace in the precious memories they shared and strength in the promise that, one day, there will be a joyful reunion in the presence of our Lord and Savior.

Serving as pallbearers will be Blake Kirkland, Jackson Adkins, Dillon Godwin, Burke Thomas, Shane Proctor, and John David Strickland. Honorary pallbearers will be Lane Sellers, Haiston Sellers, Jacob Sellers, and Hunter Mathis.
