She took great pride in being a faithful caring mother, granny and great grand-mother and was friends to many.
Ms. Patsy Smith of Wicksburg went home to be with the Lord and Savior on September 17, 2026. She was 80 years old.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, September 20, 2026, in Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel in Slocomb with Rev. Buddy Hood officiating. Burial will follow in the Wicksburg Assembly of God Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, September 20, 2026, from 1:00 p.m. until service time.
Ms. Patsy Smith was born to the late Emmett and Lettie Waters on November 12, 1945, in Dale County. She went to Wicksburg High School and got her GED from Wallace Community College on January 27, 1988. She retired from Flowers Hospital after 21 years of service as Business Office Mail Clerk and Switchboard Operator. She took great pride in being a faithful caring mother, granny and great grand-mother and was friends to many. She loved cooking, sewing and being in the yard. She took pride in helping Wicksburg school and the Wicksburg Volunteer Fire Rescue in any way she could.
She was preceded in death by her parents, the father of her children Sherrill Smith; her oldest son Jerry D. Smith; sisters: Pauline Strickland, Margaret Harrison, and Elinor Carmichael; brothers: Paul Waters, Vernon Waters, and Vernie Waters.
She is survived by her children: Sherry Woodham (David), Wicksburg, Robert Smith, Wicksburg, Wanda Andress (Travis), Enterprise, and Stacey Trawick, Wicksburg; daughter- in- law Lorrie Powers, Dothan; grandchildren: Chad Woodham (Rachael), Troy, Katie Parrish (Chris), Wicksburg, Jonathan Smith, Dothan, Heather McCall (Jimmy), Dothan, Blake Thomas (Nancy), Wicksburg, Kelley Williams, Enterprise, Madison Powell (Trey), Enterprise, Hunter Trawick, Wicksburg, Sarah Golden (Hunter), Malvern, Dalton Smith, Prattville; great-grands Kooper and Grayson Woodham, Troy, Steel Roach and Sophia, Bailee, Abigail Parrish, Wicksburg, Garrett (Trista), Pooler, GA, Oliver, and Hazel Grace McCall, and Kole Granger, Dothan, Reagan Thomas, Wicksburg, Kennedy Powell, Enterprise, Ellie Mae Trawick and Reid Gibson, Wicksburg, Kolsen James Golden, Malvern; sisters: Bonnie Sellers, Wicksburg, Francis Martin (Allen), Hartford; brothers: Oliver Waters, Enterprise, John Waters (Saundra), Slocomb, and Tom Waters, Daleville; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
The family wishes to extend their sincere gratitude to the following for taking care of their mother, MICU3 nurses at Flowers Hospital and Enhabit Hospice.
