Mr. Mancel Neil Hollis of Slocomb went home to be with the Lord Sunday, October 31, 2021 at Southeast Health. He was 87. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, November 3, 2021 at New Hinson Baptist Church with Rev. Bryan Klobe, Rev. Tony Barber, and Rev. Teddy Ward officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. 

Mr. Hollis was born July 1, 1934 in Geneva County to the late Joseph Clifton and Nina Dell McNeal Hollis. Mancel served in the United States Navy and was a lifelong cattleman and farmer. 

In addition to his parents, two brothers: Joe Mac Hollis and Keller Hollis all preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 59 years, Ann Ridenhour Hollis; children: Robin Layton (Mike), Alan Hollis (Danna), and Jason Hollis (Kim); grandchildren: Chelsea Hatcher (Matt), Madison Rivenbark (Stewart), Anna Hollis, Jessica Hollis, and Britten Hollis; great grandsons: Manston Hatcher, Meeks Hatcher, and with Keller Rivenbark expected soon; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.   

Serving as honorary pallbearers will be current and former deacons of New Hinson Baptist Church.
