U.S. Army retired CSM James Edmund Belmont Sr. of Slocomb passed away Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Southeast Health. He was 90.
Graveside services with full military honors will be 10:00 a.m. Friday, August 13, 2021 at the Union Hill Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. The family will receive friends following the graveside.
Mr. Belmont was born May 24, 1931 in Berlin, New Hampshire to the late George Edmund and Alexina Simpson Belmont. He retired as a Command Sargent Major in the United States Army after serving his country for over 27 years.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Sarah Kate Ward Belmont.
Survivors include his daughter, Deborah K. Belmont, Bisbee, AZ; his son James Edmund Belmont Jr. (Zonda), Rangely, Maine; grandchildren, James Edmund Belmont III and Alexa Belmont, and other extended family.
