Mr. Dock Robert Carroll of Hartford passed away Saturday, January 23, 2021 at Signature Health Care of North Florida in Graceville. He was 93.
Graveside services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 28, 2021 at Union Baptist Church with Rev. Tim Simmons officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
Dock was born November 15, 1927 in Geneva County to the late James A. & Pearlie Peterson Carroll. He was a proud United States Navy veteran who honorably served during World War II on the USS Fallon. He was an automobile mechanic, farmed in Geneva County all of his life, and enjoyed fishing.
In addition to his parents, brothers: J.D Carroll and James Earl Carroll; sisters: Bernell Hundley Smith, Ethel Carroll, and Gladys Carroll; spouses: Shirley Carroll, Polly Carroll, and Margaret Corley Carroll; and an infant son, Jerry Carroll all preceded him in death.
Survivors include children: Lamar Carroll (Faye), Slocomb, Ricky Carroll (Theresa), Ashford, Cindy Battles (Aubrey), Slocomb, Mark Carroll, Wicksburg, and Donna Potter (Richard), Reidsville, NC; brother, Charles Carroll (Earlene), Dothan; thirteen grandchildren, seventeen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
