Mrs. Hazel M. MacHarrie of Dothan passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the home of her daughter, Paula Brown, of Slocomb. She was 92.

 

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, September 25, 2020 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Jim Tate officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.

 

In lieu of flowers the family request that contributions be made to the Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 9, Enterprise, PO Box 310972, Enterprise, AL 36331.

 

Mrs. MacHarrie was born May 2, 1928 in Patterson, NJ to the late James Flanagan Hollins and Hazel C. Mutter Hollins. Having served in the United States Air Force, she was very proud of her military background. She spent 43 years in Maine where she called home and then moved to Dothan to be closer to her daughters, she will be dearly missed.

 

In addition to her parents, her husband, James MacHarrie; sister, Marie Howard and her husband, Edwin Howard all preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include her daughters: Paula Brown (Jeff), and Patricia Byars (Jeff); grandchildren: Melissa DeLeo (Jeremy), Daniel Watters, Jr. (Casey), Jesse Watters (Lauren), Brean Nichols, and Hadas Spivey (Russell); nine great grandchildren; niece, nephews and other extended family and friends.

 

The family would like to express a special thank you to Dayspring Hospice for all the care that was given and the love shown to Mrs. MacHarrie.
