Mr. Jerry L. Bedsole of Slocomb passed away Tuesday, September 3, 2019 at Flowers Hospital. He was 76.

 

A Celebration of Life Service with Masonic Honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, September 5, 2019 at the First Baptist Church in Slocomb with Rev. Larry Newton and Rev. David Williams officiating, and Bro. Warren Byrd delivering the eulogy with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

 

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you honor Jerry’s memory with your contributions to the American Cancer Society.

 

Mr. Bedsole was born August 22, 1943 in Geneva County. Jerry proudly served his country in the United States Air force during the Vietnam War. He retired from the Slocomb National Bank after 36 years. He was a man of faith and member of First Baptist Church in Slocomb and the Slocomb Chapter of the American Legion. He was also a member of the Metcalf Masonic Lodge in Slocomb. Jerry was a loving husband and adoring father and grandfather who will be profoundly missed.

 

He was preceded in death by his grandparents: Big Mama and Big Daddy White; mother, Hazel Warnke; his aunts: Erma Cooper and Gladys Wise.

 

Survivors include his wife, Dianne Clark Bedsole, Slocomb; sons: Travis Bedsole (Kathy), Ashford and Tim Bedsole, Dothan; grandsons: Logan Bedsole (Jess) and Jon Bedsole (Brittany); step-granddaughters: Brittany Baxter (Amber), Candy Guerrero (Juan), and Taylor Poole; great grandchildren: Grayson , Ally, Evelynn, one on the way, Carter; step great grandchildren: Dereck, Lily, Baby J, Justin and Ariat; sisters: Mary Faulk (Johnny), Martha Grimes (Rayford) and Ann Linton (Billy Ray); several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
