Mr. David C. Carroll Sr. of Slocomb left his earthly home Sunday, June 10, 2018 at the family residence after suffering an apparent heart attack. He was 82. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, June 13, 2018 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Teddy Ward officiating. Burial will follow in the Carroll Family Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 a.m. and continuing until service time. 

Mr. Carroll was born January 5, 1936 in Geneva County to the late Comer and Lucille Lott Carroll. He married his “sweetheart” Shirley Peacock in 1955 and together they raised three children: David Jr. “Butch”, Rebecca “Becky” and Tim. Over the years David worked at Fuller’s IGA as Market Manager, Swift & Co. as a meat cutter and route salesman and several jobs in construction and roofing. David and his two brothers: Dane and Nathan owned Carroll’s Roofing. 

In addition to his parents, the love of his life, Shirley Peacock Carroll on December 9, 2017; a daughter, Becky Paschal; granddaughter, Tristen Carroll; sister, Annie Lee Waterson; brothers: Nathan Carroll and Gerald “Dane” Carroll all preceded him in death. 

Survivors include two sons: David "Butch" Carroll Jr. (Sherri) and Tim Carroll (Teresa Vaughn); grandchildren: Josh Carroll (Hallie), Shelby Fondren (Patrick), Hannah Carroll, Trey Carroll and Shonda Bedingfield (Wesley); sister, Cheri Odum (Bill); several nieces, nephews and other special friends and family.
