Mrs. Mildred Flora Dean of Hartford passed away Wednesday, October 16, at Noland Hospital. She was 91.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, October 19, 2019 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Jim Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the Oak Grove Cemetery.

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.

 

Mrs. Dean was born March 9, 1928 in Geneva County to the late William David and Sophia Ann Layton Beasley. Mildred enjoyed cooking for her family, and spending her spare time doing crossword puzzles. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. 

 

 

In addition to her parents, husband, Minister Earl S. Dean; daughter, Diane Dean; brothers: Jake Beasley, and Wiley “Bunk” Beasley; sisters: Dolly Blanton, and Pauline Bell all preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include daughters: Shirley Kelley (Bill), and Tammy Youngblood (Carl); grandchildren: Jason McCarter (Meg), Justin Palmer, and Seth Younglood; great-granddaughters: Ariel McCarter, Ragan McCarter, Jenna Palmer, and Jaycie Palmer; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
