Mr. Emmett L. Sellers of Wicksburg passed away Monday, August 27, 2018 at USA Medical Center in Mobile. He was 86.  Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, August 31, 2018 at Wicksburg Assembly of God Church with Rev. Tim Simmons officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. Burial will follow in the church cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the church on Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.  Mr. Sellers was born November 1, 1931 in Houston County to the late William Green and Elvie Sellers. Emmett was a farmer and community leader, beloved father, grandfather and friend. A man who impacted anyone that he met. He was the fearless patriarch of our family and will be missed terribly…. God Bless the Farmer.  In addition to his parents, son, Gwyn Sellers; sisters: Ruth Wells, Lessie Owens, Ruby Hinson and Etha Mae Sanders; brother, Tal Sellers all preceded him in death.  Survivors include daughters: Debra Sellers and Kelly Whitlow; grandchildren: Eric Hemenes, Stephanie Sellers Treadaway, Holly Sellers Tingdale, Brandon Harpe, Sabian Sasser, Creed Sasser, Cross Whitlow, Bodhe Whitlow, Jon Daw and Sunny Spires; great grandchildren: Ean Hemenes, Kaleb Devier, Dakotah Devier, Sutherlin Williams, Bowen Williams, Cash Treadaway, Alana Moore, Gwynah Tingdale, Troupe Hartzog, Kyler Harpe, Kaden Harpe, Hunter Daw, Jon Lee Daw, Gabriel Daw, Tristn Bailey, and Aarolyn Jones; great-great grandchildren: Sadie Devier and Carson Devier; sisters: Alberta Brannon and Jean Thomley; several nieces, nephews and many who love him.  Serving as pallbearers are Mr. Sellers grandsons and great-grandsons: Brandon Harpe, Eric Hemenes, Jon Daw, Tristn Bailey, Kyler Harpe, Creed Sasser, Kaleb Devier and Dakotah Devier.

So sorry to hear of Emmetts passing. I worked at FSA during his years of active farming. He was always pleasant to work with. He gave us all Jewelry chest he had made one Christmas. I will always remember his kindness. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family. Look to God for comfort.
