Mrs. Jessie Kathleen Byrd Griffin of Wicksburg went home to be with the Lord, Friday, March 31, 2017 at Wesley Place on Honeysuckle.  She was 97. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday April 2, 2017 at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church with Rev. Buddy Hood officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the church on Sunday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. 

Flowers will be accepted or the family requests that you honor Mrs. Griffin's memory with donations to the Pilgrim Home Baptist Church Building Fund, 13534 W U.S. Hwy 84, Newton, AL 36352. 

Mrs. Griffin was born December 3, 1919 in Enterprise to the late T.B. and Drucilla Martin Byrd. Kathleen was a faithful servant of the Lord. She was a loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who will be dearly missed. 

In addition to her parents, her husband of 74 years, Warren Loraine Griffin and three siblings all preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters: Kay Driskell (Connel), Wicksburg and Enid Sikes (Wayne), Birmingham; four grandchildren: Ronnie Driskell (Michelle), Wicksburg, Gene Driskell, Wicksburg, Kimberley Yeager (Scott), Fairhope and John Cauthen (Michele), Atlanta, GA; seven great-grandchildren, three great-great grandchildren; one sister, Corine Hornsby; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
