Mr. Ned Cobb of Hartford passed away Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Hartford Health Care. He was 86.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2016 at Hartford Baptist Church with Rev. Bruce Spivey officiating. Interment will follow in the Hartford City Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the church on Saturday, beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.
Mr. Cobb was born June 9, 1929 to the late Daniel Webster Cobb and Onyx McClendon Cobb. He was an Air Traffic Controller and full time farmer until his retirement. He was a faithful member of Hartford Baptist Church where he served as a deacon. He donated many hours and days to those in need, especially with his talent as an accomplished carpenter. He was known for his intelligence and quick wit by his friends and relatives. He was devoted to his grandchildren, who will forever miss him.
In addition to his parents, his first wife and the mother of his children, Kate Cobb; his second wife, Kathleen Cobb; several brothers and sisters all preceded him in death.
Survivors include two daughters: Pam Daughtry, Pensacola, FL and Stephanie Brown (Joey), Hartford; two sons: Mike Cobb, Enterprise and Butch Cobb (Jessica), Hartford; four grandchildren: Hannah Brown, Myranda Brown, Justin Brown and Michaela Cobb; two great-grandchildren: Lily Kate Brown and Addison Gilmore; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
