Mr. Winfred Eugene "Gene" Williamson of Slocomb lost his battle with cancer Sunday, November 15, 2015 at his home surrounded by his loving family and friends.  He was 63. 

The family will host a friends and family gathering at the home of Gene's brother, Mike (391 Capps Road in Hartford) at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, November 21, 2015. In lieu of flowers the family request that you make charitable donations to Benny or Wade Williamson to help with Gene's final expenses. 

Gene was born February 10, 1952 in Houston County to the late Freddie Clinton and Eunice Pauline Coker Williamson. He was a life-long Alabama football fan and he loved his family and friends dearly.  Gene will be greatly missed. 

Survivors include his brothers: Wayne, Wade, Ronnie, Benny and Mike Williamson; several nieces, nephews, other extended family and many close friends.

Our hearts are saddened and heavy with the loss of Gene "Wimpy" Williamson. He was not only a great man but a wonderful friend. Our thoughts are with his brothers and their families, as we pray for understanding, wisdom, peace, and comfort in the following days and weeks. Although this loss is difficult to accept, it is comforting to know that Gene is no longer suffering in pain and is resting and rejoicing in the everlasting arms of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. With loving thoughts and prayers; Earl, Natalie, Anna and Bailey Knight.

Our uncle Gene was a wonderful man.He was hard working and full of Spirits.He was the best uncle in the world.We love him dearly and always will.RIP Uncle Gene.
