Cary Lee Stockley Hatcher passed away unexpectedly on May 11th, 2024, while traveling abroad. Although her passing was a surprise, her family is comforted knowing that Cary's final days were spent doing something she loved: enjoying a cruise touring England, Scotland, Ireland and France with dear friends and family. She was 70 years young.
Cary was known for her laugh, hospitality, and kindness. She was immensely involved in her church and community organizations, including the Civic Club, Scattering Seeds, and the Garden Club. She leaves a legacy to be admired by us all. Though our hearts will miss her here on earth, we can rest knowing she is with Jesus.
Cary is survived by her husband of 50 years, Stacy; her daughters and sons-in-law Casey & John and Anna & Zach; her four grandchildren Kate, Luke, Colton, and Hudson; her brother Walker and sister-in-law Frances and many other loving family and friends.
She is preceded in death by her father Henry Walker Stockley, Jr., mother, Adalee Stockley, and sister, Susan Stockley.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at Hartford Baptist Church with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. The family will receive friends at the church from 12:00 noon until service time.
