Ruth Roberts Schneller of Hartford passed away Monday, February 26, 2024 at Hartford Health Care. She was 81. 

A Celebration Of Life Service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, March 10, 2024 at Union Baptist Church. 

In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to St. Jude Hospital for Children, 502 St. Jude Place, Memphis TN 38105 or Shriners Hospital for Children, 2900 North Rocky Point Dr., Tampa FL 33607. 

Mrs. Schneller was born February 26, 1943 at the naval Base in Pensacola, FL to the late Elton Wilbert and Edith Emma Goare Roberts. Ruthie, always the career person never thought about marriage until she met Bill in 1978. She and Bill had a marriage so many envied. She was always first in Bill’s plans and whatever Ruthie wanted she usually got. Ruthie left Alabama in 1962 but returned with her husband Bill in October 2004. She often remarked she never regretted returning home. Mrs. Schneller was an active member of Union Baptist Church in Hartford. 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Bill Schneller; brother, Tommy Roberts; sister-in-law, Gail Roberts, all preceded her in death. 

Survivors include her brother, Charles Schneller, Garland TX; nieces: Tammy Dowling, Terry Roberts, Hartford and Kari Schneller, Garland TX; her “earthly lifesavers” great nephews: Caleb and Cameron Dowling, Hartford; nephew, Robert Dowling, Hartford; special cousins: John and Lee Wright, Norcross, GA; sister-in-law, Susan Howell (Gary), Roseburg, OR; brother-in-law, Dr. John Schneller (Gail), Custer, SD; stepsons: Mike Schneller, Thousand Oaks, CA, and Chris Schneller, Vancouver, WA; several cousins; additional family and friends.
