Mr. Howard Leon Baker Jr. of Wicksburg passed away Wednesday, May 3, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 60. 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 6, 2017 at Wicksburg Assembly of God Church with Rev. Tim Simmons officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m.

Mr. Baker was born September 11, 1956 in Dale County to the late Howard Leon Baker Sr. and Robbie Lynn Jerkins Baker. Leon was a dedicated employee of ACT Cooper for 41 years and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a loving husband, adoring father and grandfather who will be dearly missed. 

Survivors include his wife, Olivia Spivey Baker, Wicksburg; his son, Chad L. Baker and his wife, Leslie, Wicksburg; two grandsons: Preston and Elijah; five sisters: Sandra Sanders, Bay Springs, Judy Sanders, Dothan, Connie Lynn Jolicoeur (Rick), Dothan, Velma Kilpatrick, Midland City and Shelia Yates (Roger), Brinson, GA; sisters-in-law; Angie Ellenburg (Jack)and Sandra Wright (Tim); several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
