Mr. John Wendell Hall of Fadette went to be with his Lord and Savior on Sunday, June 22, 2025 at his residence at The Terrace at Grove Park of Dothan, Alabama. He was 88 years old.
Funeral Services, with Military Honors, will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 26th at First Baptist Church Slocomb, AL with Rev. Brad Price officiating. Burial will follow at New Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to First Baptist Church Slocomb Building Fund.
The family will receive friends two hours prior to the service.
Mr. Hall was born December 20, 1936 in Esto, Florida to the late Chester and Bea Hall. John was married to his high school sweetheart Sarah Golden Hall for 64 years. He served his country in the military for 21 years. After his military service, he was employed with the State of Alabama Employment Service assisting veterans with employment opportunities until his retirement in 1998. He was an active member of First Baptist Church Slocomb where he served as a deacon and in various discipleship roles. John was full of life, had a contagious smile, a great sense of humor, and will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister Sue Hall Rouse Smith, and his beloved wife, Sarah.
He is survived by three children Linda Hidle (Tim) of Dothan, Jeff Hall (Betsy) of Tyler, Texas and Lisa Reeder (Chris) of Slocomb, AL.; nine grandchildren Brittany Reeder (Brad); Jessica Boutwell (Jeffrey); Lauren Ashley Francis (Zack); Ashton Ergle (Taylor); Fletcher Hall (Anna); Heather Hall; Tyler Reeder; Colby Reeder (Sydney); Mason Reeder (McClain) and nine great grandchildren Anabella Reeder; Isaiah Reeder; Brody Boutwell; Savannah Grace Boutwell, Emma Francis, Ollie Francis, Mae-Alis Reeder, Rhett Ergle and Beau Ergle, and a brother Edward Hall and several nieces and nephews.
The family would like to express their appreciation to the staff and residents of The Terrace at Grove Park for providing our daddy friendships and activities that he thoroughly enjoyed.
