Elaine Dorriety

Mrs. Elaine Dorriety, 92, of Hartford, Alabama, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, February 16, 2026, at her residence, surrounded by her loving family.

The family will receive friends from 2:00 p.m. until 3:30 p.m. on Thursday, February 19, 2026, in the Fellowship Hall of Hartford Baptist Church.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Elaine with your contribution to the Hartford Senior Citizens Center, 301 South 3rd Ave. Hartford AL 36344.

Mrs. Dorriety was born on May 3, 1933, in Newton, Alabama, to the late Ottis and Nettie Stephens German. Elaine was employed with First Insurance Agency for more than thirty years. A woman of strong faith, she was a devoted member of Hartford Baptist Church. She was well known for her delicious pound cakes and exceptional baking skills. Elaine also enjoyed playing Bridge and Mexican Train with her special friends. Her kindness, faith, and love for her family will be dearly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Denise Pippen, and the father of her children, Jake Elton Dorriety.

She is survived by four children: Dennis Dorriety (Wanda), Mary Lynn Brackin (Brad), Lori Ann McGriff (Don), and Melinda Araj (Randy Mintz); grandchildren: April Knowles (Richard), Harris Kennedy (Jill), Sheena Malphurs, Trent Dorriety, Tyler Brackin (Amellia), Alex Anne Brackin, Hayden McCall (Charlie), Emma Araj, Julia Araj, and Layla Araj; great-grandchildren: Hunter Knowles, Hayes Kennedy, Hadley Kennedy, Layton Brackin, and John Tyler Brackin; one sister, Gail Harden; special friend, Annie Dean Graham; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends.
