Mrs. Martha Rene Sanders Harris of Dothan, Alabama passed away Thursday, August 5, 2021in The Village at Cook Springs Nursing Facility in Pell City. She was 93.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, August 8, 2021 at Piney Grove Assembly of God Church with Reverend Myra Jones officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.
The family requests that flowers be omitted and contributions be made in her honor to Piney Grove Assembly of God Church, 266 County Road 9 Newton, Alabama 36352 or to Faith Tabernacle Community Church, 1665 Coe Dairy Road Dothan, Alabama 36301.
Mrs. Harris was born October 4, 1927 to the late Emmet T. and Mozell Skinner Marshall. In addition to her parents, her husbands; Ray Sanders and Jerry Mack Harris; a son, Larry Wayne Sanders; her siblings, Junior, Tony, Charles, Gerald, Bill, Kathleen all preceded her in death.
Survivors include son; Joseph Ronald Sanders, grandchildren, Larry Thomas Sanders, Pamela Sanders Azar (Ken) of Birmingham, Alabama; Jeffrey Wayne Sanders and Dr. Ronald Darrell Sanders MD (Sharman Ringland) of Anniston, Alabama; her great-grandchildren, Ansley Brooke Azar, Hallie Elizabeth Azar, Kenneth Sanders Azar, and Sophia Elizabeth Sanders; sister Winnie Ruth McDonald, and other family and friends.
Martha enjoyed spending time with her friends and family. Her generosity and kindness will be greatly missed by all.
