Mrs. Mildred Sue Dillard of Black went home to be with her Lord, Sunday, June 13, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family after a brief illness. She was 90. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 17, 2021 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Jonathan Shepard and Rev. Chase Childs officiating. Burial will follow in the Pondtown United Methodist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. 

Mrs. Dillard was born September 30, 1930 in Geneva County to the late Robert and Elsie Price Armstrong.  Sue lived her life serving her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Mrs. Dillard was a devoted member of Black United Methodist Church. She was dedicated to her church and church family. Sue played the piano every Sunday, and taught Sunday School until her recent illness. She loved cooking for others especially tea cakes, white peas, and tomatoes & noodles. She was a very loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She will be dearly missed by all who knew her. 

In addition to her parents, her husband, Dupree Dillard; sister, Judy Fredrick; daughters-in-law: Jan and Tammy Dillard; great-grandson, Waylon Butler all preceded her in death. 

Survivors include daughter, Beverly Coe (Mark) Hartford; sons: Eddie Dillard, Dade City, FL and Phillip Dillard (Susan), Hartford; grandchildren: Nick Dillard (Julie) Brian Dillard (Casey), Lauren Butler (Will), Nicole Shepard (Jonathan), Haley Hayes (Zachary), Felicia Clifford (Greg),Clarissa Seales (Jacob), Ashley Barnett (Nick), Meagan Childs (Chase) and Aaron Gibson (Gabby); sister, Melba Peak; sisters-in-law:  Jean Brooks, Peggy Dillard and Elizabeth Dillard; brother-in-law, Kenneth Dillard and sister-in-law, Faye Dillard; great grandchildren: Cole and Cass Dillard; Erin, Alice, Cora and Luke Dillard; WD and Wyatt Clifford; Claire and Loretta Butler; Charlee and Landree Hayes; Olivia and Maddox Childs, Zoey Barnett and Johanna Shepard; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
