Mr. Hubert Paul Zorn of Slocomb passed away Saturday, December 21, 2013 at Flowers Hospital.  He was 66.                                                   

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home on Monday, December 23 with Rev. David Zorn and Rev. Gary Armstrong officiating.  Burial will follow in the Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.  

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 p.m. 

 

Flowers will be accepted or contributions may be made to the Slocomb Elementary Library, in memory of his beloved daughter, Renee. 

 

Mr. Zorn was born on March 6, 1947 in Geneva County to the late Hubert and Ethel Jackson Zorn.   He retired from the Civil Service and the Army Reserves after 30 years of dedicated service. Paul loved all of his family, especially his grand kids and was an avid Nascar fan. 

 

In addition to his parents, a daughter, Renee Zorn; brothers: Bill and David Zorn and brother-in-law, Bobby Hawthorne preceded him in death. 

 

Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Rebecca Zorn, Slocomb; daughter, Rita Miller (Jason); grandchildren: Cassie Varner, Jessa, J.P., Brandon and Ethan Miller all of Slocomb; sisters: Nell Enfinger, Slocomb and Sybil Poland, Hartford; brothers and sisters-in-law: Peggy &  Ricky Ellenburg, Wicksburg, Jane Hawthorne (Les), Wicksburg, Mary Williford, Slocomb, Bobby and Margie Edmondson, Wicksburg, Patsy & Danny Edmondson, Wicksburg, Willie Williford, Slocomb, Agness Zorn, Navarre Beach, FL, Dolores Zorn, Slocomb; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and a special friend, Coy Pitts. 

 

Pallbearers will be Paul’s brother-in-laws and Coy Pitts.
