Mr. David Allen Elmore of Wicksburg passed away Saturday, September 13, 2025, at Southeast Health.  He was 62. 

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, September 17, 2025, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Michel Gibson and Rev. Bob Blalock officiating. Interment will follow in the Panther Creek Freewill Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to service time. 

Mr. Elmore was born on November 9, 1962, in Houston County to the late Enuwine Richmond and Willie Nell Folkes Elmore. David was a 1981 graduate of Ashford High School and a proud United States Air Force veteran.  He was employed with M1 Support Services at Ft. Rucker for 24 years, was a member of the IAM Local Lodge 2003, and a member of the Daleville Masonic Lodge 904.  He had close brotherhood bond with his coworkers: Bob, Brian, Brad, Tony, KJ, Chase, Rhett, Jimmy K, Daniel, Melissa, Joe, Rollins, Tracy, Jimmy R., Billy, Tommy, Chris, Keith, and Troy. 

In addition to his parents, a daughter, Elizabeth Meagan Elmore; father-in-law, William Skelton; aunt, Fay Folkes; uncle, Addeth Folkes, all preceded him in death. 

Survivors include his loving wife of 41 years, Sheryl Skelton Elmore; aunt, Carrie Sue Kirkland; cousins: Joan Kirkland, Chris Folkes (Angie), Debra Kelley (Stanley), and Paula Garrett (Rick); mother-in-law, Glenda Skelton; brother-in-law, Todd Skelton (Vallie); sister-in-law, Kristy Jackson (Lee); numerous nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
