Known for his grit, sharp business sense, and unwavering faith, Terry's life was a testament to hard work, integrity, and deep-rooted family values. Terry was born and raised in Slocomb, AL, where he spent the first 20 years of his working life farming side by side with his father, learning the value of persistence, patience, and the land itself. Those early mornings and long days shaped the man he would become - tough as nails, endlessly resourceful, and deeply committed to those he loved. After years on the farm, Terry took a leap of faith, stepped into the rental world, and built his own business from the ground up.
His savvy instincts and tireless work ethic earned him the respect of colleagues, competitors, and his community alike. He approached every challenge head-on, with a determination and resolve that inspired those who knew him. Faith and family were the cornerstones of Terry's life. He believed in the power of a good day's work and the importance of gathering around the table with the people he cherished most. Whether hunting one of his favorite spots on his beloved river property, or simply enjoying a quiet evening on the porch at the lake, Terry found peace and purpose in the beauty of the natural world around him. Terry's legacy lives on in the lessons he taught, the stories he shared, and the example he set. He will be deeply missed but fondly remembered by his family, friends, and all who had the privilege to know him.
He was preceded in death by his father, James Grover Tew; his mother, Juanita Dunn Tew; sister Shirleen Tew Hughes; brothers Roger Dale Tew & James W. Tew; and his grandparents, Clarence & Ida Tew, and James & Lena Dunn.
Terry leaves behind his beloved wife of 48 years, Debbie Bradley Tew; his daughter, Tonya Tew Craig (Chris); and his son, Brad Tew (Kellan), all of whom were the greatest sources of pride and joy in his life. He was a devoted and proud "Papa Terry" to his treasured grandchildren: Alonna Hall (Mason), Alexa Leonard (Carlson), Aliza Rodgers, Paisyn Tew, Cooper Bryan, and Carson Bryan, as well as his beloved great-grandchildren: Rhett Hall, Wrenley Leonard, and Raelynn Hall.
Terry is also survived by his sister, Kathy Silvers (Carl), and his brother-in-law, Tommy Bradley. He leaves behind a large extended family and a circle of dear friends who were like family to him, including Scott and Misse Turner (Gage) and James "Smitty" and Shelly Smith. Their enduring friendship, loyalty, and countless shared memories were among the greatest treasures of Terry's life.
Honorary pallbearers will include Terry's Brothers in Christ of the Lake Eufaula Men Sharing Life.
The family would like to thank ACG Hospice and the home nurses, Taylor, Bailey and Bree for the love and care that was shown to Terry.
