Millard Lamar Whitaker

The family of Millard Lamar Whitaker, a proud resident of Bonifay, Florida for the last 35 years, announces his peaceful passing on Thursday, June 19, 2025. He was 84 years old.

Mr. Whitaker was born on June 5, 1941, in Panama City, Florida. Millard was raised in the Fadette Community, of Geneva County, by the late Chester Whitaker and Alma Hartzog Whitaker. He loved his animals and took care of them faithfully. He had many friends that he met throughout his life, in which most have passed on. He proudly served in the Army, Air Force and the National Guard. The VA was good to him in his later years. He was also a long-time member of the Masonic Lodge.

In addition to his parents, wife of 37 years, Martha Faircloth Whitaker, and four siblings all preceded him in death.

He is survived by his 4 daughters and 1 son; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; other extended family and friends.

Millard's life will be celebrated at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, June 24, 2025 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb, Alabama. Interment will follow, with military honors, in the Fadette Pentecostal Ministries Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service time.
