Mr. Shirley J. McCall of Slocomb, formerly of Franklin, NC, passed away Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at Hartford Health Care. He was 78. 

 

Funeral services will be held at Bryant-Grant Funeral Home Chapel in Franklin, NC on Monday, February 3, at 11:00 a.m. (EST). Burial will follow at Sugarfork Baptist Church Cemetery with Rev. Judson Hall officiating and Bryant-Grant Funeral Home directing. 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 2, from 6 until 8 p.m. (EST). A local visitation will be held at Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb, AL on Friday, January 31, from 6 until 8 p.m. (CST).  

 

Mr. McCall was born August 22, 1935 in Franklin, NC to the late Samuel and Bessie Sorrells McCall. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed working outside. Shirley was a proud US Army Veteran who served in France and Korea and was also a Mason. He was a loving father and grandfather who will be greatly missed. Mr. McCall was of the Baptist faith. 

 

In addition to his parents, two brothers: Eugene and Kenneth McCall preceded him in death. 

 

Survivors include three daughters: Terri Lynn Johnson (Scott) and Tammy Enfinger (Ricky), both of Slocomb AL, and Shirley Louise Chase (Andy), Walterboro, SC; two sisters: Joyce Hedrick and Faye Marlin (Ted) both of Franklin, NC; three brothers: Jerry McCall (June), Franklin, NC, Bill McCall (Louise), Jonesborough, GA and Charles McCall, Lake Orion, MI; sister-in-law, Nancy McCall, Trenton, FL; nine grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
