Mrs. Butler was born February 9. 1939 in Holmes County to the late Lena Holland Jones and James Leon Jones, Sr. Christine was a sister, wife, mother, grandmother; and most importantly, she is a child of God. In her earlier years, she, along with her nine siblings worked on the family farm.  Later, she began her career in apparel manufacturing which spanned over 30 years. She was one of the hardest working women of her generation and took to heart the admonition of Colossians 3:22-23: “Servants, obey in all things your masters according to the flesh; not with eyeservice, as men pleasers; but in singleness of heart, fearing God. And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men.”  Family was supremely important to her and she loved them with a tireless dedication. Christine was a sensitive, humble, yet strong, well-organized lady.  Though her body succumbed to the curse of death which resulted from Adam’s sin in the garden; her soul, the real Christine, lives on with Christ Jesus.  She will be dearly missed but her family has peace knowing she is better now.  Echoing the words of David in 2nd Samuel, “I shall go to him, but he shall not return to me.” Christine cannot return to us, but it would be her desire that everyone would have a relationship with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ so that you may join her in heaven someday.

Her husband of 50 Years, Howard W. Butler; and an infant son, Jeffrey; sisters: Gladys Davis, Martha Owens, and Jean Smith; brothers: James Jones, Jr., John Ed Jones, and Julius Jones, all preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons: Billy Butler, and Tim Butler (Amy); two grandchildren: Jacob Butler, and Skyler Berry; siblings: Lillie Carmichael, Emmalene Welch, and Kenneth Jones; numerous nieces and nephews, and other extended family and friends.
