Mrs. Carolyn Ruth Wilson Hulon of Wicksburg passed away Saturday, January 21, 2023 at Westside Terrace. She was 83

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 at Panther Creek Free Will Baptist Church with Rev. Michael Gibson and Rev. Ronnie Dobbs officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the church Tuesday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.

Mrs. Carolyn was born on May 23, 1939, in Wicksburg to the late Horace Nevade and Dovie Mae Wilson. She was the oldest member of Panther Creek Free Will Baptist Church, serving in many capacities. Carolyn worked at Sony for more than 15 years and was a loving mother, grandmother and sister who will be dearly missed.  

 In addition to her parents, husband, James Monroe Hulon, son, David Hulon, one sister and five brothers preceded her in death.

Survivors include her son, Lawrence “PeeWee” Hulon (Anne Knight); adopted daughter, Joanne Winston (Jim); granddaughters, Carissa Glover (Andy) and Shannon M. Hulon (Ben) and her mother, Karin Hulon; one great grandson, Logan Wyatt Kirkland; two sisters, Glenda Skelton and Jackie Peters (Bobby); one sister-in-law and numerous nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends. 

The family would like to offer a special thanks to the staff at Westside Terrace for the love and care shown to Mrs. Carolyn
