Mrs. Mary Lou Phillips of Fadette went home to be with the Lord Friday, October 26, 2018 after a brief battle with cancer. She was 82. 

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Monday, October 29, 2018 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Dr. J. Chris Adams officiating. Burial will follow at the Mt. Calvary Baptist Church Cemetery. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Monday beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. 

Mrs. Phillips was born February 17, 1936 in Geneva County to the late Jim and Daisy Ketchem Enfinger. Mary Lou was a devoted woman of faith and member of Mt. Calvary Baptist Church where she taught the Ladies Adult Sunday school class and sang in the choir. She greatly enjoyed playing dominos and completing word search puzzles while drinking her morning coffee. She was a loving wife, adoring mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed. 

In addition to her parents, husband, Julian Curtis Phillips; sisters: Robbie Katie Saunders, and Annell Collins; brothers: Dudley Enfinger, and Raye Enfinger; daughter-in-law, Karen Phillips all preceded her in death. 

Survivors include sons: Glen Phillips (Nan) Woodbridge, VA, and Roger Phillips, Midland City; grandchildren: Amy Miller (Alex), Casey Phillips, Christy Jiang (Daniel), Melissa West (Josh), and Dallas Phillips (Alicia); eight great- grandchildren; sisters: Melba Ruth Morgan, and Billie Sue Johnston; brother, Frankie Enfinger; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

She was a wonderful blessing to me. she was a joy to see at church & in the community. She loved my kids. even though I moved from the area 5years ago, she still always had the best hugs every time I got to see her. She was such a blessing when Flora & Louis passed away. She will be missed
