Mr. Jerry Wayne Allen of Malvern passed away Thursday, April 20, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family. He was 69. 

Graveside services with full military honors will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, April 24, 2017 in the Alabama National Cemetery in Montevallo with Rev. Hosea Parker officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. 

Mr. Allen was born February 7, 1948 in Birmingham, AL. Jerry was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps and served honorable in the Vietnam War where he received the Purple Heart. He was employed with Dothan Blow Pipe for many years, was an avid Nascar and Alabama football fan. 

He was preceded in death by his step-father, Paul Pearson.

Survivors include his loving wife, Arey Moore Allen; mother, Violet Sullivan Pearson; two daughters: Christy Allen Brown (Jonathan) and Amanda Allen Sharpe (Toby); two sons: Jeffrey Williams (Sissy) and Kevin Williams; one step-son, Richard Glass (Lesley);  twelve grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one brother, Tommy Allen; other extended family and friends.
