Mrs. Melinda Butler of Slocomb went home to be with her Lord Friday, October 11, 2013 at Hartford Health Care.  She was 94.

 

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, October 16 in the New Post Oak Assembly of God Church with Rev. Jerry Norris officiating.  Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing. 

 

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m.

 

Mrs. Butler was born on February 22, 1919 in Meigs County, TN to the late John and Bessia True Cranfill.  As a faithful servant of Christ, she was an active member of New Post Oak Assembly of God Church for many years.

 

In addition to her parents, husband, Jack Butler; son, Walter Moore; step son, Jack Butler Jr.; and nine brothers and sisters all preceded her in death.

 

Survivors include three daughters: June Estes, Slocomb, Mary Pierson, Richmond, IN and Sherry Kerringan, Portland, OR; two sons: Sam Moore (Barbara), Houston, TX and Ernie Moore, Slocomb; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
