William "Bill" Pelham

Mr. William "Bill" Pelham of Hartford passed away Saturday, May 6, 2017 at his home surrounded by his loving family.  He was 89.  Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, May 8, 2017 at St. Paul United Methodist Church with Reverend Bill Trawick and Reverend Johnny Belcher officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.  The family will receive friends at the church from 1:00 p.m. until service time.  In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you honor Bill's memory with your contribution to the St. Paul United Methodist Church Building Fund; 3431 County Road 36, Hartford, AL 36344.  Mr. Pelham was born December 15, 1927 in Geneva County to the late Ewell C. and Agnes Mosley Pelham.  A proud veteran, Bill served his country honorably in the United States Army. He was a member of St. Paul United Methodist Church and will be profoundly missed.   In addition to his parents, one sister, Mary Ella Toole preceded him in death.  He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Betty Jean Byrd Pelham, Hartford; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and a host of friends.
