Vernon Otez Spradley

Mr. Vernon Otez Spradley of Wicksburg passed away Friday, April 8, 2016 at his home surrounded by his family.  He was 66.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 12, 2016 at Bethel Baptist Church with Rev. Dicky McAllister officiating.  Interment will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home Monday from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m.

In lieu of flowers the family requests that you honor Vernon's memory with your contributions to the Dothan Special Olympics, 620 Sixth Ave. Dothan, AL 36301.

Mr. Spradley was born July 18, 1949 in Georgia to the late Othor and Mary Elizabeth Hicks Spradley.  He was a proud veteran of the United States Army, enjoyed the outdoors, loved to hunt and fish and work on tractors.  He was a loving husband, father and grandfather and will be dearly missed.

In addition to his parents, one brother and two sisters preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Lenora Clark Spradley, Wicksburg; one daughter, Peggy Dodson (Rob), Dothan; three sons: Billy Russell, Hartford, James Arnold (Susan), Malvern and Jerry Spradley (Thelma), Wicksburg; twelve grandchildren; eight great grandchildren; five sisters; four brothers; several nieces nephews and other extended family and friends.
