Roger Dale Turner Sr.

Roger Dale Turner Sr., 73, of Panama City Beach, went to his heavenly home on Saturday, July 15, 2017.

He was born January 27, 1944 in Dale County, Alabama and was a resident of Wicksburg, Alabama.  He served in the U.S. Army and was a veteran of the Vietnam War.  He and his family moved to Panama City Beach in 1972, where they owned and operated the Riviera Motel.  His happiest days were spent with family and especially his granddaughters.  He was a member of Woodstock Church on Panama City Beach.   He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Gail Turner; two children, Robin Jones (Jason); Dale Turner (Kara); two granddaughters, Madison Jones, Anna Katherine Turner, all of Panama City Beach; brother, Eddie Turner (Malinda) of Wicksburg, AL; Marty Davis of Panama City, Sylvia Holmes (Paul) of Griffin, GA; Linda Jones (Monroe) of Wicksburg; Monica Harrison of Geneva, AL; Joey Turner  and Sheila Bell, both of Wicksburg; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.   The family will receive friends at the Wilson Funeral Home on Monday from 5-7 p.m.  Funeral services will be held Tuesday, July 18, 2017 at 2 p.m. in the Sorrells Funeral Home Chapel, Slocomb, Alabama with Rev. Rick Young and Rev. Buddy Hood officiating.  The family will receive friends at the Sorrells Funeral Home on Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. prior to the service.  Interment will follow in the Shiloh Baptist Church Cemetery in Hartford, AL.   In lieu of flowers, the family request that donations be made to the American Cancer Society or Woodstock Church in memory of Roger Turner.  The family extends special thanks to Cancer Affiliates and Dr. Weber for their excellent care.
