Robert Emmett Yeomans

Mr. Robert Emmett Yeomans of Hartford passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at his home. He was 79.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m.  on Wednesday, August 9, 2017 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory in Slocomb with Rev. Michael Presley officiating. Burial will follow in the Hurricane United Methodist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Mr. Yeomans was born December 3, 1937 in Geneva County to the late Mitchell and Agness Ruth McKnight Yeomans.  In addition to his parents his first wife and the mother of his children, Margaret Jean Yeomans; his second wife, Elizabeth Lavoni Yeomans; brother, Earl Yeomans all preceded him in death.  Survivors include his wife, Gladys Kirkland Jackson Yeomans, Hartford; his daughter, Debra Jean Lewis, Hartford; his son, Max Earl Yeomans, Hartford; two grandsons: Josh Lewis (Hannah) and Timmy Lewis both of Hartford; five great-grandchildren: Josh, Peyton, Kirsten, Samara and Michael; three sisters: Carolyn Russ, Marie Yohn (James) and Janice Davis (Robert) all of Dothan; two brothers: Willard Yeomans (Carman), Grand Ridge, FL and Roger Yeomans; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
