Mr. Quiton Johnson passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026 at Flowers Hospital. He was 75 years old.
The family will receive friends on Saturday, January 31, 2026 beginning at 11:30 am and continuing until 12 noon in the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb. Burial will follow in the Johnson Family Cemetery.
Quiton was born July 15, 1950 to the late Gaston Johnson and Ollie Irell Thompson Johnson Ramage.
Quiton was preceded in death by his parents Gaston Johnson and Ollie Irell Thompson Johnson Ramage, sister Wanda Johnson, brother Rudolph Johnson, and his beloved son Quinton Gaston Johnson.
Quiton lived his life on his own terms. As a young man he was wild and free. Many would have considered him a rambling man, a tumbleweed, a wild stallion who sowed his oats across the plains of the United States with many female victims who fell prey to his charm (to many to name). He was loved by many and hated by some, but that never stopped him from living life the way he wanted. From tree tops, to cabins of big rigs, to prison cells, to porch sitting in the country, he lived and experienced a life that most would only dream of. He accomplished many things over the years, for a man who could not read nor write. He had every materialistic item a man could want, but his heart was never as full or complete until the day he became a father to his son Quinton G. Johnson and daughter Quin Denise Johnson. Quiton owned and operated Johnsons and Son Tree Services from the 1960’s til 2024. The last year of Quiton’s life he faced health and family issues that ultimately led to his passing. His body may no longer roam this earth but he will live on in the hearts of those who loved him and the minds of those who envied him.
Quiton was survived by his daughter’s Quin Denise and Casey, sisters: Joann Chason (Joey) and Betty House, many grand and great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews.
He may be gone, but he’ll never be forgotten. Now may he finally be able to rest because he was hell on wheels here on earth.
