Philip D. "Phil" Newsome

Ret. MSgt USAF Philip D. “Phil” Newsome of Hartford, AL. passed away on September 22, 2024, at Southeast Health. He was 69.

Memorialization will be by cremation with interment to follow at Arlington National Cemetery. No local services are scheduled at this time.

Ret. MSgt USAF Newsome was born on February 14, 1955 in Alabama to the late Basil Victor Newsome and Edna Hardwick Newsome.

In addition to his parents, a sister, Dorothy “Dottie” Jean Clark proceeded him in death.

Survivors include two daughters:  Rachel N. Tumey (Jeff II), Teddy V.Y. Orndorff (CJ); son, Jason N. Newsome (Debi); grandchildren: Ella Newsome, Donovan Newsome, Julianna Tumey, David Tumey, Matthew Tumey, Tristan Orndorff-Halterman (Tanner), Brandon Orndorff (Vicky), Kensly Orndorff, Blakely Orndorff, and Bristol Orndorff; siblings: Faye Yongue (Wayne), Robert Newsome (Teresa); nieces and nephews: Joy Davis, Kim McCormick (Scott), Randy Yongue, Blake Yongue, Melissa Newsome, Josh Newsome (Taylor), and Caleb Newsome, Jennifer Maples (Willie), Erika Marsh, and Clarisa Peters (Garrett); extended family and friends.
