Mrs. Patricia Ann Cotton of Slocomb went home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 6, 2026, at her home, surrounded by her loving family. She was 81 years old.
A Celebration of Life service will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, July 8, 2026, at Burns Assembly of God Church with Rev. Royce Morrow officiating. Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb is directing the arrangements. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church one hour prior to the service.
Patricia was born on June 3, 1945, in Geneva County to the late W.D. and Retha Mae Hughes Hall. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend whose life was marked by faith, love, and service to others. For 35 years, Patricia cared for the children of her community through her in-home daycare as well as many foster children. Affectionately known as "Cotton" by the many children whose lives she touched, she loved each one as if they were her own. The love and memories she shared with those families became a lasting part of her legacy. A woman of steadfast faith, Patricia faithfully exemplified Christ in her daily life and was an active member of Burns Assembly of God Church for many years. Her kindness, gentle spirit, and unwavering love for her family and community will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.
In addition to her parents, Patricia was preceded in death by her cherished son, Trevor Cotton.
She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years, Joe Cotton; her daughter, Greta Hall and husband, Pat; her daughter-in-law, LaShea Cotton; her grandchildren, Shanda Motta (Dom), Shana Yance, Shayla Hall, Cameron Cotton, and Rayleigh Cotton; her great-grandchildren, Tatum Gammons and Shyloh-Grayce Yance; her brother, Wayne Hall (Ann); her sister, Melinda Ballard (Larry); and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Though Patricia's earthly journey has come to an end, the love she shared, the children she nurtured, and the faith she lived by will continue to inspire all who were blessed to know her.
