Maudie Godwin

Mrs. Maudie Godwin of Malvern passed away Saturday, April 6, 2024 at her home. She was 91.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Royce Morrow and Rev. Corteland Quattlebaum officiating. Burial will follow in the Christian Home Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday beginning at 9:00 a.m. and continuing until service time.

Mrs. Godwin was born October 14, 1932 in Geneva Conty to the late Plez and Retta Pippin Cochran. Maudie was a faithful Christian. She was a loving mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and great-great grandmother who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Moody Godwin, daughter, Bebbie Davis, and her husband, Bobby; brother, Clarence Cochran, and sister, Shirley Loftin; son-in-law, Eddie Goad all preceded her in death.

Survivors include three daughters: Linda Goad, Malvern, Ann Hall (Wayne), Fadette, and Jackie Quattlebaum (Roger), Malvern; five grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two great-great grandchildren; two sisters: Ludea Williams (Charles), Dothan, and Peggy Kiddy (Nip), FL.; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
