Mattie Jewel Johnson

Mrs. Mattie Jewel Johnson of Hartford passed away Thursday, January 4, 2024 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 82.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 2:00 on Saturday, January 13, 2023 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb with Pastor Risha Slaymaker officiating.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Saturday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.

Mrs. Johnson was born September 17, 1941 in Geneva County to the late Albert Glenn and Nora Lee Jones.

In addition to her parents, husband, Kenneth Ray Johnson; daughter, Donna Jean Johnson; granddaughters: Trisha Marie Johnson, and Reanne Johnson; grandson, Brandon Johnson; brothers: Buck Jones, Earl Jones, and Buddy Jones; nephew, Tommy Jones, all preceded her in death.

Survivors include her daughter, Teresa Jones (Doug); sons: Roger Johnson (Denise), Orlando, FL, Timmie Johnson (Nancy), Hartford, Jimmie Johnson (Diane), Howie in the Hills, FL, and Mark Johnson (Barbara), Kissimmee, FL; 23 grandchildren; 22 great grandchildren; siblings: Jimmie Jones (Joanne), Laura Moyers, and Walter Jones (Paulette); several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to her niece, Joanna Obenoskey and Candy Wike for the love and care shown to Mrs. Johnson.
