Mary Evelyn Powell

Mrs. Mary Evelyn Powell of Hartford passed away Monday, December 24, 2018 at her home. She was 77.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, December 28, 2018 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Mitch Johnson officiating. Burial will follow in the Fadette Assembly of God Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Friday beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.

Mrs. Powell was born June 20, 1941 in Holmes County, FL to the late Aaron and Almer Robbins Harris. Mary enjoyed her special time with her family, reading, and listening to gospel music. She was a member of Winterville Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Powell was a loving, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Lester Junior Powell, son, John Henry Powell, sister, Lonnie Pearl Stevens, and bro., Robert Earl Harris all preceded her in death.

Survivors include two daughters: Linda Gayle Pierce (Daryl Woods), Hartford, and Linda Louise Granger (Kye), Hartford; two sons: Danny Powell (Jackie), Esto, FL, and Junior Earl Powell, Hartford; 12 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
