Mary Jean Harris Kelley of Slocomb passed away Monday, June 2, 2014 at SAMC. She was 82.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 5, 2014 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home with Rev. Hosea Parker officiating. Burial will follow in Union Baptist Church Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 1:00 until service time.
Mrs. Kelley was born November 6, 1931 in Geneva County to the late Fletcher and Lena Peters Harris. She was a loving wife and devoted mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She was a member of the Slocomb First Assembly of God Church. Mrs. Kelley, along with her late husband and two sons, owned and operated a farm and cattle ranch for many years.
In addition to her parents, her husband, Paul Ray Kelley, brothers: Charles Harris, Jack Harris, George Harris and Cliff Peters; grandson-in-law, Thad Tiner all preceded her in death.
Survivors include two sons: Billy Ray Kelley and Paul Fletcher Kelley both of Slocomb; two grandchildren: Ryan Kelley (Whitney), Dothan, Summer Kelley Tiner, Dothan; five great grandchildren: Cohen and Claire Kelley, both of Dothan, Jade, Emily and Reagan Tiner all of Dothan; two brothers: Curtis and Roy Harris (Ann); a special nephew, Jimmy Harris; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
