Mary Ellen Dean

Mrs. Mary Ellen Dean of Dothan passed away Tuesday, March 1, 2016 at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 85.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, March 4, 2016 at Piney Grove Assembly of God Church with Rev. Brian Presley and Rev. Hollis Bradley officiating.  Burial will follow at Jellico Community Cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Thursday from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.

Mrs. Dean was born September 19, 1930 in Houston County to the late Glen Greathouse and Leona Tindell Greathouse Caudell.

In addition to her parents, a daughter, Diane Seay and one sister, Ruth preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, B.C. Dean, Dothan; one daughter, Janet McNeill (Charles), Ashford; eight sons: Danny Dean (Beverly), Donnie Dean (Ginger), Ronnie Dean (Gayle), Johnny Dean, David Dean, James Dean (Edna), JR Dean (Paula) and Bruce Dean all of Dothan; three sisters: Faye Weeks, Samson, Annie Laura Garbarino, Dothan and Ann Donaldson (Byron), Samson; one brother, Billy Caudell (Terry), Columbus, GA; numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.

The family would like to express their appreciation for the loving care of Evelyn Jennings, Sherita Hudgins and Tammy Allen that was freely given to Mrs. Ellen during her illness.
