Mary A. Deal

Mrs. Mary A. Deal passed away Wednesday, October 13, 2021 at her home. She was 82.

Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, October 18, 2021 in the Chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home of Slocomb. Interment will follow in the Bay Springs Baptist Church Cemetery.

The family will receive friends beginning at 1:00 p.m. and continuing until service time. Flowers will be accepted.

Mary was born in Geneva County on May 6, 1939 to the late Amie and Eliza Jane Sasser-Turner. She worked 17 years at Van Heusen then later retired from Michelin. Mary was a master seamstress delighting in sewing beautiful pieces for her grandchildren. She passed on her love of true southern cooking to her daughters-in-law and grandchildren. One of her favorite hymns was Amazing Grace. Mary was a member of Bay Springs Baptist Church. She loved her family more than anything and always enjoyed spending time with them.

In addition to her parents, a sister, Mildred Carpenter, preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Mr. Billy Deal; two sons: Allen Deal (Lorrie) and Todd Deal (Rhonda); grandchildren: Jason Deal, Sharisse Deal, Tyler Deal, and Lacey Bussie; and two great-grandchildren, Lela Bussie and Brayleigh Bussie.
