Martha Jean Smith

Mrs. Martha Jean Smith of Clanton  passed away Sunday, June 28, 2015 at the home of her daughter in Spring Hill, FL. She was 71.

Martha was born August 22, 1943 in Birmingham to the late Thomas Perry and Willie Mae Hines Gwin.  She enjoyed watching Nascar racing, camping, spending time with her family and was an avid Alabama football fan.

In addition to her parents, two daughters: Michelle and Shelia and one sister  preceded her in death.

Survivors include her husband, Thomas Smith, Clanton; one daughter, Sandra Grossman (Jason), Spring Hill, FL; one step-daughter, Linda Harden (Tim), Dothan; four step-sons: Thomas A Smith, Grimes, Mike Smith (Nan), Grimes, Ken Smith, Echo and Kevin Smith, Headland; two sisters; one brother; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; other extended family and friends.

Memorialization will be by cremation. The family request that you honor Martha's memory with kind thoughts and prayers for her family.
