Marion Collin "M.C." Newman

Mr. Marion Collin "M.C." Newman passed away Monday, March 21, 2016 at Wiregrass Nursing Home. He was 86.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 23, 2016 at Shiloh Baptist Church with Rev. Ricky Hall officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery with Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the church on Wednesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.

Mr. Newman was born December 3, 1929 in Dale County to the late William Aaron and Corrine Snell Newman.  He was an avid fisherman and was not afraid of hard work. He can best be described as a true southern gentleman who was dearly loved and will be missed.

In addition to his parents, his wife, Kay Newman; two daughters: Baby Susan and Elizabeth; three sisters: Merle Pickren, Pearl Spera and Amy Lee Hanks; four brothers: Joe, Jim, Cliff and Virgil Newman all preceded him in death.

Survivors include three sisters: Jewel Pierce (Jack), Midland City, Elizabeth Ryals, Hartford and Alice Sisk (Jack), St. George, Utah; several nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
