Marilyn Reeder Smith

Marilyn Reeder Smith, age 73 of Columbus, GA passed away at St Francis Hospital on Tuesday, August 18, 2020 with her husband Terry, and nephew Russell by her side.

The daughter of the late Roy and Ethel Reeder and daughter-in-law of the late Wallace and Nellie Smith, Marilyn was born in Columbus, GA on October 15, 1946 and married the love of her life, Terry Smith, on January 30, 1982.

In addition to her love of art and antiques, Marilyn was a dedicated learner and teacher, earning a degree from Judson College, her Master’s degree in English Education from Southeastern Louisiana University, and teaching for 27 years in high school and elementary.

She is survived by her husband Terry, sister Carolyn, nephew Russell and his wife Jennifer Smith, her Aunt Lois Page, and cousins.

Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 22, 2020 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with the Reverend Lee Chorn officiating. A private interment will follow in the New Teamon Baptist Church Cemetery.
