Marie Wood

Mrs. Marie Annette Tennyson Wood of Hartford passed away at the home of her son in Long Beach, MS on Sunday, December 8, 2024.  She was 88.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 15, 2024, in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Rev. Glen Tate officiating.  Interment will follow the Wesley Chapel United Methodist Church Cemetery.

Mrs. Wood was born June 23, 1936, in New York to the late Vernon and Mary Cooper Tennyson.

In addition to her parents, her husband, Malcom Wood, and two sons: Floyd Wood, and Norman Wood; sister, Violet Tennyson, all preceded her in death. Survivors include two sons: Alan Wood, and Bryan Wood (Karen); grandchildren: Tory Carter (Aaron), Aubrey Wood, Alan Michael Wood (Kennedi Grace), Jesse Wood, Bryan Wood, Jr., Gary Gene Waymire, and Tyler Waymire; great grandchildren: Liam and S.J Carter.; siblings: Marvin Tennyson, Margerette Spinwebber, and Carol Beard; several nieces, nephews, and other extended family and friends.
