Lamar Thomley

Mr. Lamar Thomley of Wicksburg passed away Sunday, June 21, 2015 at his home. He was 76.

Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Tuesday, June 23, 2015 at Pilgrim Home Baptist Church with Rev. Teddy Ward and Rev. Buddy Hood officiating and Sorrells Funeral Home & Crematory of Slocomb directing.

The family will receive friends at the church on Tuesday beginning at 2:00 p.m. and continuing until service time.

Mr. Thomley was born November 5, 1938 in Wicksburg to the late Mood E. and Kathleen Gillis Thomley. Lamar was a member of Pilgrim Home Baptist Church. He worked for many years as a truck driver for Wiley Sanders and Couch until his retirement.

In addition to his parents, his brother, Spurgeon "Pete" Thomley preceded him in death.

Survivors include his daughter, Angie Haines, Panama City, FL; two grandchildren: Jacqueline and Jay Allen; sister-in-law, Lynell Thomley, Wicksburg; nephew, Larry Thomley (Frankie), Hartford; great-niece, Carlie Peters and great-nephew,  Ashley Thomley; extended family and friends.
