Kenneth Ray Johnson

Mr. Kenneth Ray Johnson of Hartford passed away Saturday, May 1, 2021 at his home. He was 83.

A Celebration of Life Services will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, May 6, 2021 in the chapel of Sorrells Funeral Home in Slocomb with Faith Campbell and Rhonda Chambliss officiating.

The family will receive friends on Thursday at the funeral home beginning at 4:00 p.m. and continue until service time.

Mr. Johnson was born October 4, 1938 in Dothan, AL to the late Alfurs Baker and Rosalee Givens Johnson. Kenneth loved his family and the Lord. He enjoyed tending to his animals, fishing, was a handyman and loved building things. He would always tell you like it was and wouldn’t hold anything back.

In addition to his parents, one daughter, Donna Johnson; three grandchildren: Trisha Johnson, Brandon Johnson, and Raeanne Johnson; nine siblings, all preceded him in death.

Survivors include his wife, Mattie Jewell Johnson; daughter, Teresa Jones (Doug); four sons: Roger Johnson (Denise), Mark Johnson (Cookie), Timmie Johnson, (Nancy), Jimmie Johnson (Darlene); 25 grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; sister, Judy Farmer; Quinton Johnson; nieces, nephews and other extended family and friends.
